Brindisi - Patras Ferries

Brindisi is a busy seaport town and is of prime importance as the starting-point for the Eastern Mediterranean. The depth of the inner harbour permits ocean steamers to lie at the quays. An extraordinary castle, built by Frederick II, boasts massive, round towers. It once guarded the inner harbour but today serves as a prison. The cathedral here, dating from 1178, was destroyed by earthquakes and restored in 1743 to 1749.

Hellenic Mediterranean Lines Ferries (HML Ferries) offers a route between Brindisi and Patras. The company services routes which connect Italy with the Greek mainland and a number of the Greek islands. HML is a specialist operator, with only two vessels in its fleet and very specific destinations. The company boasts on-time sailings and efficient quality service. HML meets most of the international safety and maintenance standards and claims to strive towards offering the best possible service to its passengers. In the last decade, Patras has become a central port for communication with Italy, via the Ionian Islands. The new Patras ferry port plays a key role in the eastern Mediterranean, offering high-level cargo services and featuring new passenger ferry terminals in both the new and existing port.
