Ferry companies operating from the Port of Reykjavik
The cargo shipping company Eimskip offers cabins on its vessel Bruarfoss. The ship sails every two weeks between the harbour in northeast Reykjavik and the Faroe Islands, Hamburg (Germany), Aarhus (Denmark), Copenhagen (Denmark), Helsinborg (Sweden), Gothenburg (Sweden) and the Faroe Islands. The boat also operates on another route, departing from Reykjavik and calling at the Vestman Islands, Immingham and Rotterdam.
Symril Lines operates a link between Denmark and Iceland, but to Seyðisfjørður not Reykjavik. The ship sails along the following route: Hanstholm-Tórshavn-Lerwick-Bergen-Lerwick-Tórshavn-Seyðisfjørður-Tórshavn-Lerwick. This route is serviced once a week, departing Hanstholm on Saturday morning, arriving in Tórshavn 9 hours later. The ship docks in Tórshavn for 3 hours, before journeying another 13 hours to reach Lerwick. It then takes 13 hours to travel to Bergen, before the return journey, all the way to Seyðisfjørður.
