Port of Paxos

Paxos (Paxi) and Anti Paxos are located 14 kilometres south of Corfu. Of the main six Ionian Islands, Paxi is the most compact, being 10kms long and 4kms wide. Gaios, in the south of the island, is the capitol of Paxos and is still an active fishing port.

Tourists are attracted to the island by its beautiful beaches, small coves and peaceful ambience. It remains only moderately touristed during the summer months, as there is no airport on the island, and the journey must be made by ferry from Patras or Igoumenitsa.

The harbour is situated at the heart of Gaios, with several shops restaurants and hotels within walking distance of the port area.

All ferries have facilities for those with disabilities, though passengers should advise staff of any special needs when making their reservation.
