Useful Information
Port of Kirkwall

When you arrive at Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands, you're actually visiting a place as much Norwegian as British, but whose inhabitants generally consider themselves as Orcadians. Harbour Street runs from east to west along the waterfront area, with the port facilities reaching to its north.
As the port is situated near the town, shops and restaurants are within easy reach of the harbour area. Most of Kirkwall's excellent shopping is located in Bridge and Albert Streets. The Orkney Tourist Board provides tourist offices in Kirkwall and Stromness.

There are facilities for the disabled in the ferry terminal and aboard the ships, though passengers are advised to inform NorthLink Ferries of any special needs, when making their reservation.
