Transportation to and from the Port of Cuxhaven

The port of Cuxhaven offers easy connections for road and rail traffic into central and northern Europe, while ferries regularly connect with the UK. Bremen is just 45 minutes by car and Hamburg only two hours.
If driving from the Flensburg area, take the A7 south, then take the exit signposted Harburg/Heimfeld and turn into the Cuxhavener Strasse, which becomes the B73 and you will pass through the towns of Buxtehude and Stade. This road takes you all the way to Cuxhaven. At the first roundabout take the road sign-posted England Ferry/Harwich. Follow the road for 2.3kms and turn into Lubbert Strasse where you will find the Hapag Halle/DFDS Seaways Terminal after approximately 1.7kms.

If Travelling from the direction of Lübeck, take the A1 until you reach the Bremer Kreuz (highway crossing at Bremen), then turn onto the A27 which leads you directly to Cuxhaven.
The national bus service provides convenient connections to destinations around Germany while Eurolines link to destinations around Europe.
Deutsche Touring GmbH offers attractive journeys on public service buses along Germany's touristic holiday routes, while regional and urban public transportation operators and associations offer a rich network of short distance bus trips. Regular trains depart from Cuxhaven and travel to regions across Europe, and further on across the European continent.
Passenger ferries are available to Harwich in England, with up-to four sailings available per week.
Travellers will find parking facilities available at the port for both short and long-term stays, while designated areas are available for those with disabilities.
