Ferry companies operating from the Port of Cherbourg

P&O Irish Ferries has two routes connecting Cherbourg with Rosslare and Dublin in Ireland. The Cherbourg-Rosslare route departs on Wednesday and Saturday nights, with a journey time of 19 hours. This route is operated by the vessel, the European Diplomat, with meals included in the ticket price. The sailing from Cherbourg to Dublin departs on Sunday at 14:30, with a crossing time of 18 hours. Sailings are onboard the super-ferry, the European Ambassador, with meals included in the ticket price. Foot passengers are not allowed on this route.

Brittany Ferries offers cross-channel crossings, with two daily sailings from Cherbourg to Poole (England) with journey times of just over 4 hours. During the summer months Condor Ferries operates a fast ferry, the Vitesse, on which crossings only take 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The fast ferry service to Poole runs twice daily and takes 2 hours and 15 minutes versus 4 hours on the conventional ferry. Condor Ferries operates this service on behalf of Brittany Ferries between May and October. The sailing to Portsmouth is a conventional ferry service taking 5 hours and runs on Sundays between May and September.

P&O Ferries/P&O Ferries Portsmouth has daily sailings between Cherbourg and Portsmouth in the UK. There are four sailings a day, except on Friday, when there is a fifth sailing. This route takes just under 6 hours onboard the conventional ferries and just under 3 hours onboard the Fastcraft service during the summer.
