Traveling to Port

Transportation to and from the Port of Chania

Chania port ferry tickets

Ferries connect the city with Piraeus on the mainland of Greece, as well as several other Greek islands, while transport around the island is facilitated by the public bus service and road network.

The main road in Crete is the national road that follows the north seashore of the island from east to west. This is a relatively good road that handles most of the traffic of the island. The rest of the roads range from smaller asphalt roads to poorly surfaced rural roads.

A good bus network connects Heraklion with nearby Rethymnon and Chania, further east.

Chania is connected with many of the airports in Greece, several European countries as well as Cyprus, with regular or charter flights. Companies that operate regularly out of Chania airport are Olympic Airways, Aegean-Cronus Airlines and other chartered flights.

Parking at the port is limited, however there are a number of parking lots in the town, which provide both short and long-term parking facilities.
