Port of Bari

Bari is an important port in the southern Adriatic, a centre of culture and commerce for the Apulia region. It has traditionally been Italy's gateway to the Balkans and the Middle East, and offers an excellent climate all year round.

Bari has two harbours, the Old Port and the New Port. The Old Port, near the ancient wall and the Old Town, is used only for pleasant crafts and fishing boats. The New Port, on the other hand, accommodates large passenger ferries arriving from Greece and Albania. There are banking facilities, a tourist information point and a number of shops located at the port. Passenger will also find a modern cruise terminal, with a coffee shop and other conveniences.

All ferry companies and the ferry port provide facilities for those with disabilities, with special cabins available on board some vessels. However, passengers are recommended to inform their ferry company of any special needs prior to travelling.
