Ferry companies operating in the Port of Ancona

Adriatica di Navigazione operates regular ferry services connecting Ancona to Split in Croatia. The company has two sailings per week during the winter, increasing to four a week during the peak summer months. The crossing on average takes about 10 ½ hours. There is also a sailing between Ancona and Bar, in Montenegro, once a week, normally on a Wednesday. This sailing takes about 22 ½ hours. The connection between Ancona and Durres, in Albania, normally departs at 19:00 and operates once a week during low season and increases to two or three sailings per week, during the high season in the summer. The journey takes about 21 hours, if the weather is good. Greek ferry company ANEK Lines offers ferry services that connect many of the Greek Islands with mainland Greece, as well as with Italian ports Ancona and Trieste. There are daily crossings between Patras (Greece) and Ancona during the summer months, calling at Corfu en route: Patras-Igoumenitsa (5 hours, 30 mins) -Ancona (19 hours, 30 mins from Patras). The number of crossings is reduced to six per week during low season

Another Greek ferry company, Blue Star Ferries, also offers connections from Ancona to Greece. Daily service is available Ancona-Igoumenitsa-Patras (20 hour journey), and Ancona-Igoumenitsa (16 hour journey).

Superfast Ferries offers the Ancona-Patras route, which is serviced twice daily, with one sailing stopping at Igoumenitsa en route. There is another daily Ancona-Igoumenitsa service as well. The journey from Ancona to Igoumenitsa takes 15 hours, with a further 4 hours required to reach Patras. Some of these sailings may be operated by Blue Star Ferries, a sister company of Superfast Ferries.

Minoan Lines offers the Ancona-Igoumenitsa-Patras route, with daily sailings throughout the year. Departures are at 17:00 from Ancona, arriving in Patras at 13:30 the following day. The entire journey takes 28 ½ hours.

Aliscafi Miatrade d.o.o offer crossings to Bozava (Dugi Otok Island) and Zadar in Croatia. There are also onward connections from Zadar to Salie and Zaglav.

Jadrolinija, the Croatian ferry cruise operator, has a ferry service from Ancona to Split. Ferries to Ancona depart at 21:00 and arrive in Split the following morning at 7:00. During high season ferries operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. About once a month, some ferries go on from Split to Stari Grad and Kor?ula, arriving in Kor?ula at 12:00.

SMC-Blue Line offers sailings 6-7 times weekly to Spalato, Zara and Stari Grad. SMC also offers a number of weekly sailings to Vis and Mali Losinj (Croatia). SNAV sails every day to Spalato.

Marmara Lines operates the Ancona-Cesme route, which is principally in operation once a week, departing Ancona at 22:30 on Saturday and arriving in Cesme on Tuesday morning at 6:30. On the return journey, the sailing departs Cesme at 11:00 on Thursday and arrives in Ancona at 16:30 on Saturday. Departure times vary during low and high season. The journey time is roughly 51 hours.

Hoverspeed operates a joint service with SNAV between Ancona in Italy and Split in Croatia - this service operates once a day, with a journey time of approximately four hours.
