P&O Irish Sea Route Network
P&O Irish Sea currently services seven routes connecting the east coast of Ireland with the UK and Europe.
There are two routes connecting Cherbourg in Normandy, France with Rosslare and Dublin in Ireland. The Rosslare-Cherbourg route sails three times a week on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, with a journey time of 19 hours. This route is operated by the vessel, European Diplomat, with meals included in the ticket price.
There are two sailings from Cherbourg to Rosslare, on Wednesday and Saturday nights. The Dublin-Cherbourg crossing takes 18 hours and departs from 'The Point' in Dublin every Saturday at 12:00 all year around. Sometimes the ferry will stop at Rosslare, which increases the crossing time to 22 hours.
The sailing from Cherbourg to Dublin departs on Sunday at 14:30. Sailings are onboard the super-ferry, European Ambassador, with meals included in the ticket price. Foot passengers are not allowed on this route.
There are two other routes departing from Dublin. Dublin is connected to the new port of Mostyn in north Wales, with ships departing from 'The Point' in central Dublin. The crossing on the super-ferry, European Ambassador, takes 6 hours; while the crossing on the conventional ferry, European Envoy, takes 7 hours, 30 minutes (Free meals are included in the ticket price on this ferry. There is limited disabled access). Sailings vary seasonally, but are offered twice daily except on Saturday (one sailing) and Sunday (no sailings).
The second route is Dublin-Liverpool, which is available on early morning and overnight crossings aboard the Norbank and Norbay conventional ferries (both have limited disabled access). The crossing takes 7 hours, 30 minutes and departs Dublin twice daily, except on Sunday when there is only one overnight crossing available.
