Orkney Ferries has a fleet of seven modern car and passenger ferries serving the Outer Isles. Vessel size varies depending on the route and demand of the ferry service and vessel routes may be switched depending on the season. All ferries have a cabin and toilet facilities for the disabled, with the exception of the vessel Varagen.

The M/V Eynhallow operates on the Wyre-Egilsay-Rousay route and has capacity for 95 passengers and 10 cars. The Hoy Head operates the Flotta and Lyness route and has a capacity of 125 passengers and 18 cars. M/V Shapinsay operates the Kirkwall-Shapinsay route and has capacity for 91 passengers and 12 cars. The following three vessels operate on the Stronsay route: the Earl Thorfinn with a capacity of 190 passengers and 26 cars; Earl Sigurd, a sister vessel of Earl Thorfinn; and Varagen with a capacity of 144 passengers and 33 cars.
