CalMac serves 22 islands and 4 peninsulas spread over the western coast of Scotland and has an extensive network of ferries, servicing over 30 ferry routes on a daily basis. The following destinations are currently served by CalMac: Arran, Barra, Benbecula, Bute, Coll, Colonsay, Cowal, Cumbrae, Gigha, Harris, Kintyre, Lewis, Iona, Islay, Lismore, Mull, Rathlin Island, Skye, Small Isles, Tiree and the Uists.
CalMac prides itself in providing transportation services to locals, as well as visitors. For visitors, CalMac offers two attractive and costeffective packages: the Island Hopscotch and Island Rover. The Island Hopscotch ticket allows the visitor to choose from 26 separate itineraries, such as the Whisky Hopscotch, Hopscotch Route North and Hopscotch Route South. The ticket is valid for up to a month, making it fit almost any visitor's time schedule.

The Island Rover ticket is much more flexible and allows travellers to use any CalMac route with one discounted ticket. The ticket is valid for 8 or 15 days and is especially popular for those on bicycle or motorcycle holidays. The ticket also gives competitive prices for those travelling with cars or caravans.
Some of the most popular routes for tourists covered by CalMac's network are: Oban-Colonsay (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a journey time of 2 hours, 30 minutes); Oban-Craignure (three to five times daily, with a journey time of 45 minutes); Mallaig-Armadale (twice daily Monday through Friday, with a journey time of roughly 30 minutes); Ullapool-Stornoway (twice daily Monday through Saturday, with journey times of roughly 2 hours, 30 minutes).
